Today is "La Multi Ani" - Thank you for the happy birthday wishes

We walked to school this morning. Delia and I worked with the 3s, 4s, K5s and K6s this morning. As the K6 class went outside for recess. I went upstairs to lend a hand with English language class for the second graders. It is Romanian custom that when it is your birthday you supply the food/treats so I had a cake for the students and teachers. The children sang happy birthday to me in English and Romanian.
Afterschool we went to the placement center in the nearby village. We had a cake for them as well and Dean played soccer with the older young men and Tom played with the younger children. I talked with the young people and showed a photo album of family members. After the soccer game and everyone had cake, Dean and Tom had an opportunity to share the gospel with one of the young men, while another listened on. He was very open to what was shared and will consider the information that he was provided today. We know that the Word does not return void and pray that his heart will be softened.
Manu grilled pork cutlets and mici (Romanian sausages pronounced meech) and Delia made a lovely salad of tomatoes, red and yellow bell peppers, cucumbers, red onion and branza (soft cheese) for dinner. It was light yet filling.
It was an early evening... for a change. And I had a lovely birthday!
