Buna ziua, friends!
(boo-nah zee-wah means "good day" or "hello")
Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
We, The Nicely Family (Dean, Didi and Daphne), are so excited to be able to share with you that we’ve once again answered the call to international missions through One Heart Church (OHC) in Norcross, Georgia. We’ve been actively attending OHC since it began nearly 5½ years ago and we’re so thankful that our “Faith Family” not only knows the Great Commission but has and does act upon it (as found in Matthew 28:19-20 as well as teachings found in Acts 1:8, James 1:27 and James 2:14-17). The Romanian Missions Project will be only one of many international mission trips that OHC members are involved in this year in addition to local and national missions and ministries.
This will be Dean’s third, Didi’s fifth and Daphne’s sixth trip to Romania in as many years. While in Romania this year (12 – 20 June 2011), the OHC team will be working closely with our host church, Grace Baptist Church in the town of Lugoj. We will be facilitating a Vacation Bible School there and ministering to orphans in three different placement centers. We will hold evangelistic services and participate in four or more individual worship services in outlying villages on Sunday morning.
Not only do we still believe the Lord is leading us toward serving in Romania and Eastern Europe on a long term basis as career missionaries. We have received some confirmation on this call through the people we met in 2010 (and continue to meet), the opportunities that were presented, His provision and with the matching of our gifts, talents, passions and skill sets with ministries and needs waiting to be fulfilled. In addition to the aforementioned mission activities while in Romania, we will also be doing ministry needs assessments, investigating employment options for Dean, exploring various types of housing arrangements and trying to determine living and ministry expenses for a long-term commitment on the part of One Heart Church and the Nicely Family.
Take a moment to view the Personal Reflection tab for a spotlight on our individual experiences and also the Romania Mission Report 2010 tab to learn of the ways in which Daphne served in 2010. Please let us know when you are available to sit down for a spell and hear about the Goodness of Our God and the marvelous works He has done. Any one, any combination or all three of us would be blessed and honored to share with you.
Please follow our local ministries and missions as well as daily activities while in Romania by becoming our friend on Facebook at: www.facebook.com/nicely.missions.
Our ultimate desire is to see God glorified, lives changed and eternity impacted as we submit to our call to missions.
Thank you in advance for your prayers and encouragement! Our hearts overflow with love and gratitude for your support, faithfulness and partnership which enables us to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost, hurting and desperate world.
Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all. Amen.
How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed?
And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard?
And how shall they hear without a preacher?
And how shall they preach unless they are sent?
As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,
Who bring glad tidings of good things!”
Romans 10:14-15
Pace!
(pah-chay means "Peace" and is the salutation Christians use with each other in their comings and goings)
