Praise be to God! The Nicely family is returning to Lugoj, Romania as short-term volunteer missionaries with One Heart Church (OHC) in 2010. This will be Dean’s 2nd, Didi’s 4th and Daphne’s 5th mission trip to Romania in as many years. We believe the Lord is leading our family toward serving there on a long-term basis. Thank you for joining us as we go before the Lord regarding this.
Daphne has been granted a 6 week non-paid leave of absence from her employer, Atlanta Pregnancy Resource Center, and departs for Romania on 6 March with a team of four others. The small team will be doing a modified Vacation Bible School (VBS) at Grace Christian School (GCS), home visits for housebound seniors and discipleship studies in two specific placement centers (orphanages) for one week. The small team will return on 13 March, but she will remain in Lugoj to serve in any number of ministries/missions (i.e. Evangelism, new believer follow-up, discipleship, ESL and tutoring at GCS, women’s or youth groups, support and encouragement for church plants, exploring other ministry options and relationship building…).
Dean and Tom B. will arrive 23 March and will be serving at our host church, Grace Baptist (GBC), and GCS as Baptist Builders in a construction ministry. In the evenings they will be joining Daphne at the placement centers as well as attending services at several different churches in various cities and villages.
Didi and the rest of the OHC large team will join us on 5 April. As members of the large team, we will be hosting VBS at GBC and in a neighboring village, ministering to orphans in various placement centers and participating in evangelistic services. We will also participate in church services in outlying villages on Sunday mornings. We’ll all return on 12 April.
Pace!
(pah-chay means "Peace" and is the salutation Christians use with each other in their comings and goings)
