Prayer Requests
12 June 2011
Please pray for the young men at PC 3/4 that they will come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Pray for our health and healing: Didi ears and throat have healed but she has a cough now. I have finished my course of antibiotics but now have a cough and feel a sore throat. Whatever Dean has it's migratory (i.e. throat, sinuses, throat and now his eyes are puffy and swollen. Haley and Brother Gearl are under the weather as well and both began taking antibiotics yesterday, FYI: They are blaming Dean for their illness.
Pray that we stay focused on the mission the Lord has set before us and that we allow ourselves to be used by Him how He sees fit.
Pray for the large team as they depart Atlanta for Munich today and depart Munich for Timisoara tomorrow. Safe travel, on time flights and all luggage where it should be when it should be.
Pray that the children and young people attending VBS at Grace Baptist Church Tuesday - Friday will be receptive to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Yesterday while we were walking to PC 3/4 after dinner, Didi said, "Do we have to go? Do we have to go back to America? Can't we just stay here?" Pray for God's timing.
The father/husband with the new home that we met on Tuesday needs a job to support his family.
Pray that Dean will have gainful employment upon return to Atlanta.
5 June 2011
Please pray for spiritual and emotional healing for young lady at PC 3/4 and that she will come to know Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
Please pray for the young man at PC 3/4 that he too will come to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Pray for our health and healing: Didi appears to be coming down with some type of respiratory illness. Also, she has had some pain in her ear since we arrived on Thursday. Dean is also fending off illness. I am still on meds since last week for my respiratory issues prior to departure.
Pray that we stay focused on the mission the Lord has set before us and that we allow ourselves to be used by Him how He sees fit.
Pray for Ana and her husband, Mihai (see prayer request dated 30 March 2010).
8 March 2011
Please pray that we continue to "bloom where we are currently planted":
- Dean - ministry to the homeless and hungry in Downtown Atlanta and Street Evangelism
- Didi - ministry to "unchurched" friends and service in Children's Ministry at One Heart Church (OHC)
- Daphne - North American Mission Board (NAMB) Mission Service Corps Missionary employed at Atlanta Pregnancy Resource Center as Client Services Director and Volunteer Coordinator and service in Children's and Student Ministry at OHC
Pray for the Lord's provision of funds for each of the OHC 2011 mission teams (The Ukraine - April, Romania - June & Argentina August)
Pray that the cost of airline tickets comes down in time to purchase them for the Romania missions team
Pray that we continue to desire to serve and please God and that in His service we operate in the power of the Holy Spirit and not within our own agendas.
Pray for revelation of God’s timeline for when the Nicely Family will deploy to the mission field full-time.
Pray for donor development, ministry partners, ministry development, networking and strategic relationship building.
28 October 2010
Please pray for increased Opportunities to Share the Gospel and God's Plan of Salvation found only in Jesus Christ and that we (Dean, Didi and I) will continue to share with boldness, confidence and courage. Whether in the U.S. or Eastern Europe, we want to bloom wherever we are planted. This includes divine appointments, local and international missions and our existing ministries: Dean’s street ministry to the homeless and downtrodden of Atlanta; Didi’s ministry to her friends, peers and the OHC children’s ministry; Daphne’s ministry to women, youth, “unmarrieds” and post-abortive individuals through Atlanta Pregnancy Resource Center as well as service in OHC’s children’s and student ministry.
Pray that we continue to desire to serve and please God and that in His service we operate in the power of the Holy Spirit and not within our own agendas.
Pray for revelation of God’s timeline for when the Nicely Family will deploy to the mission field full-time.
Please pray that Didi will continue to be salt and light and that she doesn’t lose her first love. Let her continue to lament and have compassion for those that don’t have a relationship with Jesus and ever desire to proclaim Him as Lord and Savior.
Didi desires to attend C.S. Lewis College in Northfield, Massachusetts (a fully accredited Christian institution of Great Books and Visual and Performing Arts scheduled to open in 2012). If this is God’s will for her, we pray that He will provide the resources for this to happen and that she will continue to be diligent in her studies and maximize the gifts, skills and talents she’s received from the Lord.
We have three adult children (Eric 27 years, Lucas 21 years and Severiana 19 years) in addition to Didi who is 15 years old. Please thank God and pray for continued protection over our family, as we are on the front lines of an intense spiritual battle (John 10:10). As pro-life and post-abortion missionaries we present abstinence and sexual integrity as God’s plan for our lives; therefore, we and our families can be particular targets of the enemy’s attack in this area of our lives (1 Peter 5:8-9).
Pray for donor development, ministry partners, ministry development, networking and strategic relationship building.
Pray that the people we’ve shared the gospel with will develop a hunger and thirst for the Word of God and develop a relationship with Christ and desire to live in obedience to Him.
Pray for the people we disciple that they will be bold in their witness and seek to disciple others.
Pray for Daphne to have more opportunities to present sexual integrity/purity, abstinence and God’s will for our lives as well as consequences of stepping outside of His will (i.e. STDs, unplanned pregnancy, abortion, sexual addiction, pornography…) to young people and their parents/caregivers in churches, schools and institutions.
Pray that Daphne is able to serve and minister to more abortion minded and abortion vulnerable women with spiritual truths and medical facts, through the compassion and love of Christ while she continues to serve at APRC.
Pray that Daphne is able to introduce more post-abortive women to Christ centered healing and restoration found in post abortion counseling and education (P.A.C.E.) ministries (both here in the U.S. as well as Romania and other countries of Eastern Europe) and that they will desire to be healed.
Please pray that we will be able to complete all training necessary to be effective in the mission field and our respective ministries. In the immediate future Daphne seeks to become designated as a Life Affirming Specialist (LAS); to become a certified Abstinence Educator; to complete training as a Caregiver of survivors of human trafficking, slavery and sexual exploitation; to complete training as a facilitator of post-abortion services and grief counseling; and to receive a Chaplaincy certification for Critical Incident Stress Management. Precept upon Precept Leader’s Workshops as well as cross-cultural and language training is also on the radar for the Nicely Family.
Pray that our nation and the world will come to value the sanctity of human life through God’s eyes and not based upon the “quality” of life (what popular culture says) we often think supersedes the perfect will of God and remember this foundational truth: "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live" Deuteronomy 30:19 KJV.
Pray for awakening and revival within the church and with the people of God toward a desire to “walk and talk” sexual integrity and sanctity of human life and the need for compassionate care, love, mercy and grace for those that stumble (sexual sin and abortion).
Please pray that the Lord will provide us with a vehicle. We could benefit from a vehicle that is in good working condition and that seats at least 5 people or more. We put on a lot of miles commuting between work, church, and ministry service activities. Also, we’re frequently chauffeuring people to and from church, service activities and evangelistic events so good gas mileage would be a bonus.
Pray that the Lord blesses us with a home computer for Didi to be able to do her homework assignments, creative writing projects and to enable her to manage this website, which she built for us. Plus, when we are in the mission field she will be attending online school in order to graduate from a U.S. high school.
Please thank God for His Goodness and Provision. We accept by faith that the Lord will provide and are not anxious or worrying about anything.
